The First Pioneer Families of Virginia
The First Pioneer Families of Virginia
Contains a brief description of the process of acquiring land in the British Colony of Virginia and provides alphabetized lists of individuals patenting land from 1623 through 1656. Patents and headrights claimed, i.e., 50 acres of land for paying the passage for another immigrant to the colony, are the principle data for capturing population demographics and a list of all immigrants in the early years of the colony.
